An IXI Network member financial services firm faced a common challenge: growing deposits from existing customers without a reliable way to identify which households were the best candidates for outreach. Branch teams and traditional segmentation methods couldn’t efficiently pinpoint customers with significant deposits held at other institutions, leaving substantial opportunity untapped.
Working with Equifax’s WealthComplete, the firm used household-level total deposit estimates to segment and target roughly 20,000 customers likely holding at least $10K elsewhere and lacking the firm’s money market or certificate accounts. A sample analysis showed customers held over $14 billion at other institutions; the targeted, multichannel campaign was projected to generate more than $70 million in new deposits (surpassing the firm’s $43M goal by over 60%) and open more than 1,000 new accounts.
