Connexus Plus Helps Minimize Risk with a Safe Haven for Customer Data

Connexus Plus, a utility and communications customer, needed a way to protect highly sensitive customer PII without relying on encryption or keeping the data in its own systems. Facing the risk of data breaches during customer acquisition and service applications, Connexus Plus turned to Equifax and its Connexus® Plus data stewardship and security service to create a safer approach.

Equifax implemented an offsite data safe haven that removed identifiable information from Connexus Plus’s internal systems and replaced it with persistent, anonymous keys for matching and retrieval. The result was that Connexus Plus could fully eliminate exposed PII from its environment, significantly reducing the risk of a data incursion and improving customer data security with faster, more efficient record linking.
