Cinemark, a global leader in motion picture exhibition with 420 theatres and 4,783 screens (and roughly 17,500 new hires annually), faced a time-consuming, paper-based I-9 verification process and growing E-Verify compliance requirements (driven by state laws such as Arizona’s). The company needed to eliminate manual inefficiencies, reduce fraud risk, and centrally manage I-9s across its 400+ theatre locations.

Cinemark implemented the Equifax I-9 Management solution, going live after a two-month rollout, to centralize and automate I-9s, integrate with E-Verify, and replace paper forms with electronic storage. The change delivered full E-Verify compliance, eliminated fraudulent/invalid I-9s, streamlined workflows, provided configurable alerts for expiring work authorizations, and cut HR processing time by up to 10 hours per week.
