HACE, a UK-based social impact tech startup, aimed to combat child labor by translating complex expertise into a scalable data product. Their challenge was the lack of precedent for benchmarking child labor risk; data was inconsistent, difficult to access, and required nuanced interpretation. Equal Experts helped HACE launch the world's first Child Labour Index (CLI), which assesses over 36,000 publicly listed companies. The solution involved creating robust data ingestion practices and developing a go-to-market strategy that led to the launch of the annual Corporate Child Labour Benchmark. This work provided a new way to hold the private sector accountable, raising awareness and driving transparency around a previously hidden crisis.
