Nebraska’s largest hospital fixes preventive maintenance challenges

The Nebraska Medical Center (TNMC), a 621-bed academic hospital with a multi‑million‑square‑foot campus, struggled to manage preventive maintenance and meet regulatory compliance across a sprawling portfolio of facilities. To centralize maintenance, reporting and space management, TNMC implemented Archibus by Eptura to replace a fragmented time‑and‑materials system and paper‑based surveys that made compliance tracking and data access difficult.

Eptura deployed the Archibus suite — including preventive maintenance, on‑demand work, space inventory, service desk and condition assessment — to automate workflows and centralize data. The system now handles 800–1,000 preventive and operational work orders per month across 18 problem types with 570 SLAs, improved data quality and shortened survey cycles, enabled single‑screen work order management, strengthened compliance reporting for audits, and even allowed TNMC to outsource PM work to rural hospitals as a new revenue stream.
