Case Study: Telefónica de España achieves $1 billion savings and smarter real estate management with Eptura (Archibus)

A Eptura Case Study

Preview of the Telefónica de España Case Study

How Telefónica De España achieved $1B in savings and productivity

Telefónica de España, the largest telecommunications operator in the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world with more than 7,500 properties (40M sq ft) across 50 countries, faced fragmented, geographically dispersed real estate and facilities data stored in multiple Access databases and thousands of CAD drawings. To gain a consolidated view of assets, leases, space usage and building operations, Telefónica engaged Eptura using its Archibus IWMS as the foundation for the GAIN (Gestor de Activos INmobiliarios) program.

Eptura implemented Archibus modules for building operations, space management and real property & lease management, plus web self-service portals and CAD standardization, integrating HR and SAP feeds to provide one corporate system. The GAIN solution delivered optimized space usage, faster work‑order handling, accurate centralized data and improved reporting — ultimately helping Telefónica de España rationalize its portfolio and processes and achieve over $1 billion in savings. Eptura’s Archibus platform enabled the measurable consolidation and ongoing management of the company’s global real estate.
