How Sodexo cut real estate by 50% while enhancing the employee experience

Sodexo, a global integrated facilities management company with 430,000 employees, needed to optimize its flagship London office at 1 Southampton Row—aiming to reduce real estate by 50% while improving space utilization and the employee/visitor experience. To achieve this, Sodexo partnered with Eptura and deployed its workspace booking solution, including desk booking and meeting room booking, to support a more flexible, self-managed workplace.

Eptura implemented a fully integrated flexible-work environment with desk and meeting-space booking, embedded project management support and onsite rollout assistance (including pop-up expert help and induction packs), allowing employees to self-manage workspaces and enabling tighter desk-to-employee ratios. The solution helped Sodexo reduce desks and square footage, achieve its space objectives and deliver measurable savings of £2.5m over five years, with plans to roll Eptura’s booking solution out across other offices.
