How Nanyang Technological University (NTU) utilizes BIM technology to solve facilities management challenges

Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore’s largest university with 33,000 students and a 200‑hectare garden campus including 16 residence halls, needed to eliminate manual facilities management processes, speed report and room-inventory generation, and better track leased-space chargebacks. NTU selected Archibus by Eptura—deploying BIM-enabled Space Inventory & Performance, Space Chargeback, Personnel & Occupancy and Smart Client extensions for AutoCAD and Revit—to modernize its space and facilities management.

Eptura implemented an integrated BIM–Archibus solution that imported CAD, spreadsheets and log forms into a unified Archibus database and delivered linked 2D/3D visualizations for rooms, floors and buildings. Completed in approximately four months, the rollout automated FM workflows, accelerated reporting and inventory processes, improved lease chargeback tracking, and optimized space and asset utilization through real‑time analysis—driving faster adoption, higher productivity, and plans to extend BIM to asset and operations management.
