Case Study: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration achieves centralized asset, space and maintenance management with Archibus by Eptura

A Eptura Case Study

Preview of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Case Study

How a government organization established consistent space and asset standards, system-wide centralized reporting, and greater compliance across geographically distributed facilities

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) manages 2.25M square feet across 17 buildings in three regional centers and faced fragmented legacy systems, inaccurate data, inconsistent space and asset standards, unmaintained CAD plans, and limited occupancy and reporting capabilities. To address these issues NOAA partnered with Eptura and its Archibus solution to replace multiple legacy CMMS platforms and Excel-based processes with a single enterprise asset and space management system.

Eptura implemented Archibus web and mobile applications — including Space Management, Building Operations Management, Telecommunications & Cable Management, and Cost Administration — consolidated data from two legacy CMMS platforms, and tagged and linked 3,000 equipment and telecom assets to preventive maintenance schedules while establishing three regional help desks. The deployment delivered unified workflows and system-wide centralized reporting, automated cost management (moving NOAA off Excel), improved preventive maintenance visibility (82 PMs active; 57% work from PMs), and ensured consistent Federal Real Property Profile reporting in compliance with Executive Order 13327.
