easyGroup founder Sir Stelios Haji‑Ioannou opened the easyFoodstore to offer basic items at 25p to low‑income customers, drawing on his charity work in Cyprus and Greece. He needed a reliable, efficient POS that could both support retail operations—competing with larger stores and rewarding loyal customers—and ensure fair, trackable distribution of donated food so the scheme could not be abused.

Epos Now was trialled by the foundation and rolled out across the store to store customer data, run promotions, and record distributions. The system delivered fast checkouts, accurate stock tracking and replenishment, easy advance discounts, and auditable records of food given out—helping the shop stay popular, protect vulnerable recipients, and streamline both commercial and charitable operations.
