PMI-San Diego, one of the largest local chapters of the Project Management Institute with over 1,500 members, faced growing pains as its flagship annual conference expanded. Event data lived in disparate tools like Google Docs and spreadsheets, contact records were often inaccurate, historical lessons weren’t tracked, and volunteers—who run the conference—struggled with fragmented documentation, versioning issues and limited visibility into schedules and responsibilities.

PMI-San Diego deployed EPM Live (QuickStart) to consolidate event management into a single work management platform. Centralized contact lists, a document repository with version control, shared calendars and automated alerts, dedicated workspaces and historical speaker records gave volunteers global visibility and easier collaboration. The result was improved productivity, better planning and speaker management, reduced rework, and a more efficient, repeatable process for executing the conference.
