The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), managed by Caltech for NASA, runs dozens of large, interdependent robotic missions and was relying on desktop Project Professional and PDF exports to share static schedules. That manual process prevented a single consolidated view, limited engineers’ ability to update schedules directly, and created extra administrative work for Project Schedule Analysts.

Working with LMR Solutions, JPL deployed EPM WorkEngine—integrating Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 and SharePoint Server 2007—to create project portals, real-time schedule access, and a consolidated master schedule. The solution improved schedule accuracy and collaboration, let engineers edit schedules directly, reduced PSA administrative time (saving up to half a day per week), and delivered measurable cost savings and better resource visibility.
