Copenhagen Airport, the largest airport in Scandinavia serving Copenhagen and Malmö and home to Denmark’s biggest airport shopping center, handles up to 50,000 passengers daily. To reduce travel stress and speed up in-terminal purchases, the airport set out to create online touchpoints — including duty‑free pre‑order, flight and passenger info, and parking research/booking — so customers could make quicker buying decisions and pick up goods easily.
By adding e‑commerce functionality and pre‑order/pickup options, Copenhagen Airport made it simple for customers to research and shop from home while still completing purchases in person when needed. The result: travelers arrive better prepared and, on average, spend about 2.5 times more online than they do during airport visits.
