A Episerver Case Study
The Anne Frank House’s Virtual Anne Frank Museum wanted to bring the Secret Annex online in a way that preserved the site’s complexity while making it easy to manage and engaging for school-aged visitors. The challenge was to present a detailed 3D tour with room-by-room content and interactive hotspots, while keeping editorial and technical maintenance simple.
Using Episerver’s open architecture, developers built a maintainable menu structure and a CMS-driven formula to place clickable hotspots throughout the rooms, implemented by Digitas with development by LBi Lost Boys. The site attracted 500,000 visitors in the first six months with an average dwell time of 14 minutes, and the team is upgrading to Episerver CMS 6 for future features like an interactive family timeline.
