DK revamps digital brand experience

DK, the world’s leading illustrated reference publisher with content in 62 languages, faced an outdated, end-of-life CMS and fragmented UK, US and Canada sites that produced inconsistent branding, poor SEO and a subpar experience for both visitors and content editors. With limited control over online representation and an unresponsive design, DK needed a single, scalable platform to restore their digital brand and improve discoverability and sales.

DK built a “DK Hub” on Episerver CMS, integrating Cloudinary, affiliate links and Schema.org, deploying responsive design and geo-targeting to deliver a consistent global experience and give marketers direct control of content. Results include bounce rates dropping from 66% to 44% (UK) and 71% to 54% (US), active sessions up ~12% (UK) and ~10% (US), and mobile traffic rising from 14% to 25%. The shared toolset and catalogue now enable faster content publishing, ongoing feature rollouts and a clear roadmap for future personalization and growth.
