SkiStar is Scandinavia’s leading ski-resort operator and runs a continuously growing website that drives over 70% of its prepaid bookings. The company’s challenge was to make the site and mobile app more than a booking engine — creating a personalized, end-to-end digital travel journey that inspires and informs customers before, during and after their trips while leveraging mobile and social channels to build ongoing relationships.

Implemented by Ninetech, SkiStar introduced targeted personalization using browser language, IP, cookies and past-purchase data and launched a feature-rich mobile app that provides weather, individual skiing stats, friend-location, games and easy sharing of user-generated content. The result is stronger engagement and social reach — about 135,000 Facebook fans and 60,000 app users — and a more relevant customer experience that supports bookings and repeat visits.
