1177.se – The best Public Sector website in Sweden

1177.se is Sweden’s national health information and service site run by Inera AB on behalf of the country’s county councils and regions. As the site grew into a primary channel for citizen–healthcare interaction, Inera faced higher demands for usability, content and technical stability and engaged Valtech to rework the concept, design and underlying platform.

Valtech performed a pre-study and proof of concept, then rebuilt the site on Episerver CMS with SiteSeeker, multiple system integrations and a user‑centric agile workflow using two Scrum teams and frequent sprint demos. The new site launched in December 2010 with ongoing enhancements (responsive design added in March 2013), delivering improved usability and performance and earning 1177.se the Internetworld award for best public sector website in Sweden.
