A Epiq Case Study
Epiq assisted a large 100 law firm facing the challenge of managing a complex, multi-territory eDiscovery process. The client needed to coordinate forensic data collections in Germany and Japan while navigating different data privacy laws, avoid duplicative review efforts across jurisdictions, and meet tight deadlines for a large volume of data.
The solution involved Epiq's in-country forensic teams collecting four terabytes of data. Epiq then applied machine translation to convert documents into English, used deduplication to eliminate redundant files, and performed Early Case Assessment to cull the dataset. By applying analytics like Technology Assisted Review, Epiq helped reduce the final review population to 200,000 documents, successfully eliminating duplicate review across regions and streamlining the entire workflow.
