Vollrath, a long-established Wisconsin manufacturer of injection-molded warewashing racks and plastic kitchen products for the food service industry, faced limited visibility and slow response to production issues: their legacy monitoring system had no ERP integration, lacked process monitoring and real-time reporting, and provided insufficient alerts for machine downtime.

Vollrath implemented Epicor Mattec MES in a three-month rollout, adding real-time production and process monitoring, SPC, and a quality module plus voice paging/alerting. The system improved uptime to 91%, raised OEE from 77% to 87% (a 10% gain), and yielded estimated annual savings of $728,000 across 14 machines while giving stakeholders immediate access to actionable data.
