Symmetry Medical Asia, the Penang-based regional headquarters for Symmetry Medical, is a contract manufacturer of implants, instruments, cases and sterilization containers for medical-device customers worldwide. Following a major expansion, the company needed to move from disparate, standalone manufacturing systems to an integrated ERP that could schedule and execute complex production operations while remaining easy to implement and use across multiple departments.

Symmetry implemented Epicor Manufacturing ERP (Enterprise Edition), using modules for material, production, order, financial, procurement and advanced planning & scheduling to provide live, real-time data across the business. The rollout delivered broader functionality and straightforward usability, improved production management (including time & attendance), increased operational visibility with dashboards and custom reports, and better order/material costing and on-time information for management.
