A Epicor Case Study
Speckman Automotive, a family-run auto parts distributor in St. Mary’s, Ohio with three locations and 19 employees, needed to move from its legacy Epicor J-CON system to an easy-to-use Windows-based platform that could handle multi-store inventory, streamline pricing and order entry, and reduce back-office manual work. After a failed attempt to implement ICARZ/PartWatch, the team sought a solution that minimized conversion risk and improved counter and field-sales efficiency.
They implemented Epicor Eagle—with off-site data conversion, Cover-to-Cover parts lookups, Offline POS, PowerPricer, Document Management, and Business Advisor—and went live across all three stores over a single weekend. Staff adopted the system quickly, orders can be entered in the field and uploaded, pricing uploads replaced manual entry, statement processing time dropped from a day to a half-day, sales have increased year-over-year, inventory control and customer service improved, and Offline POS preserved operations during Internet outages.
