Specialty Screw Corporation, a Rockford, Illinois manufacturer of engineered fasteners, had run Epicor ERP on‑premises since 1997 but by 2020 was roughly five years behind on upgrades. The outdated system and a two‑person IT team created heavy overhead—frequent hardware refreshes, manual patching, limited upgrade windows, and costly security and compliance investments (TS16949 and ransomware protection)—which prevented the company from using new functionality and training resources.

In March 2021 Specialty Screw moved to Epicor Kinetic in the Azure cloud and completed the implementation in June 2021 with partner Total Solutions Group. The cloud solution provides automatic upgrades, elastic performance and pay‑for‑use capacity, and Epicor‑managed security and compliance, freeing IT to focus on reports, BAQs, dashboards and user training while improving scalability, business continuity, and the company’s ability to leverage new features.
