Power & Rubber Supply (PRS), a Tuscaloosa, Alabama fluid-power distributor founded in 1976, stocks roughly 14,000 items and provides engineering and maintenance services across the region. The company struggled with an antiquated, paper-heavy software system that made reporting, inventory tracking, pricing analysis, and daily operations slow and labor-intensive, costing hundreds of man-hours each year and causing occasional losses on discounted products.
PRS implemented Epicor Prophet 21 after a 10-month rollout and training program, moving to real-time inventory, billing, and warehouse management. The new system cut order-picking time by about one hour per day, accelerated deliveries, reduced packing errors, enabled pricing corrections on loss-making items, and virtually eliminated paper, giving PRS cleaner inventory control and faster, more accurate reporting.
