Pike Nurseries is an Atlanta-based lawn-and-garden retailer that grew from a single store in 1958 to 16 locations and about 400 employees across Atlanta and Charlotte. The company was hampered by separate point-of-sale and accounting systems that limited data visibility and precise inventory control, slowing operations and hindering merchandising and customer-targeted marketing.

In November 2008 Pike implemented Epicor Eagle, adding Gift Card and Loyalty programs plus Epicor Compass reporting for SKU-level inventory and sales analysis. The new system simplified cashier training, enabled targeted email campaigns that drove event sales up 456% and 151% year-over-year, supported issuance of 11,467 gift cards (over $600K in merchandise credits), and delivered more accurate receiving, fewer write-offs, stronger sales and improved margins.
