A Epicor Case Study
Paradise Home Center, a third-generation, 20-employee family-owned lumber and home improvement store in Union, South Carolina (founded 1947), outgrew its legacy Epicor CSD system and needed technology to support leaner operations, faster service, and better reporting. The aging character-based system caused slow checkout, cumbersome invoice lookups, paper-heavy filing, and limited payment processing, hampering the company’s goal to reduce operating expenses and improve margins.
Paradise implemented Epicor Eagle with Document Management, Business Advisor, and Compass, enabling electronic storage and rapid document retrieval, automated reports and viewers for informed decision-making, and modernized point-of-sale (including debit processing). The changes cut invoice lookup from a week to about 30 seconds, reduced statement production time, eliminated four filing cabinets and a full-time back-office role (now part-time), and delivered roughly $50,000 in annual savings from labor, storage, returns handling, and improved margin management.
