Millar Western Forest Products, Alberta’s largest privately held softwood lumber producer with three high-speed sawmills, needed to use IT to improve speed, turnaround and operational efficiency in order to compete in U.S. and Asian export markets. Millar Western implemented Epicor LumberTrack as an out‑of‑the‑box solution, integrating a new Fox Creek mill and linking EDI to customs brokers. The system accelerated invoicing and month‑end reconciliation, sped production of shipping and customs documentation, consolidated acquired-mill data, reduced in‑house IT needs, and delivered better reporting—improving efficiency and strengthening the company’s competitive position internationally.
