A Epicor Case Study
Triad Technologies, a Vandalia, Ohio–based fluid power distributor with 88 employees across seven locations and about $36M in annual sales, needed to replace manual, keyed-entry processes to better handle hundreds of orders daily and manage 40–50,000 SKUs. The company’s challenge was to automate picking, receiving, labeling and inventory workflows, reduce handling and labor, and improve the ability to manipulate and communicate data across departments and sites.
Triad implemented Epicor Prophet 21 (SQL Server-based, modular, Windows UI) and integrated it with warehouse automation (carousel) and portal/self-service tools. The result: top-line sales rose 28%, picking labor fell by over 50% at the same transactional volume, receiving handled 25% more transactions with 60% less labor, back-office roles were streamlined and staff redeployed to value-added tasks, and inventory/data analysis became faster and more centralized.
