A Epicor Case Study
International Forest Products (INTERFOR) is one of Western Canada’s largest logging and saw‑milling companies, operating dozens of remote sites and producing new and remanufactured wood products. Their decentralized accounts‑payable process required daily paper movement from 67 locations to corporate, generating over 16,000 AP documents monthly, long delays, weak controls and more than $72,000 a year in overnight shipping and off‑site storage costs.
INTERFOR implemented Epicor’s doc‑link document management to centralize processing: invoices are scanned at corporate, routed electronically for remote review and approved via side‑by‑side voucher entry with GL coding automatically imported. The change eliminated filing and courier use, improved approval turnaround and invoice tracking, eased audits and Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance, and delivered quantifiable savings (including the $72,000 shipping/storage reduction and lower forms costs).
