A Epicor Case Study
Fox’s Confectionery, a Leicester-based maker of long-standing sweets (Glacier Mints, Poppets, etc.), became an independent single-site business after a 2003 management buyout and needed to rescale its IT. The incumbent SAP system was too large and costly for the new standalone operation, and temporary central support carried high fees, so the company sought a lower-cost ERP that would replicate needed functionality and enable self-sufficiency.
Fox’s implemented Epicor Tropos ERP, deploying application, web and mail servers and about 50 workstations, with Epicor developing custom rebate and order interfaces. The project went live a month early; resultsto include streamlined processes, better forecasting and information access, reduced cost of ownership, and the ability to operate independently while retaining large-system functionality.
