Marble and Granite Inc., a Westwood, MA–based natural stone and tile wholesaler with 45 employees and the largest footprint in New England, needed a way to reduce wasted time in contact management and let its salesforce update records and approve orders while on the road. The company wanted mobile functionality (iPhone/iPad) to streamline contact updates, order approvals, and other ERP-related tasks without forcing reps to return to the office or log into the full system.
By integrating the Epicor Prophet 21 API into its homegrown mobile app, Marble and Granite enabled mobile contact updates and order approvals directly from iOS devices. In about three months the team added or updated more than 2,000 contact records, gave sales reps more selling time, improved the accuracy of weekly marketing blasts, and allowed approvals and data access without entering the ERP — with plans to extend the API to transfers, RMAs, and slab adjustments.
