A Epicor Case Study

Epicor helps timber manufacturer bring staff together over one system across the business

John Brash is a family-owned timber importer and manufacturer in Lincolnshire, UK, with a long heritage supplying construction-grade timber products. The company struggled with a nearly 20-year-old legacy system that lacked modern inventory control, EDI, pack-based trading and full traceability, resulting in frequent manual workarounds, inaccurate stock data and lengthy stocktakes.

In 2013 John Brash implemented Epicor BisTrack (including a bespoke quick-pack feature and barcode scanning), plus integrated financials and EDI, to deliver real-time transactions, pack traceability and automated document handling. The change cut stock-count time and staff dramatically, enabled electronic ordering and invoicing, produced instantaneous stock valuations and clearer management reporting, and improved customer service and on-time-in-full performance.
