Rexam Corporation’s Berlin, Ohio plant, a manufacturer of plastic prescription-pill containers and liquid-product packaging, needed to implement SPC/SQC, reduce scrap, increase machine utilization, eliminate manual data entry, and improve reporting across its injection and stretch-blow molding operations.

Deploying Epicor Mattec MES for real-time production and process monitoring (with planned SAP integration) automated data collection, enabled per-cycle OEE, SPC-driven auto-acceptance/reject, and visual operator dashboards. The result was improved OEE and machine utilization, reduced scrap and quality maintenance costs, fewer administrative hours through automated reporting, and the ability for one operator to run more machines.
