Epicor Eagle helps Benson’s Pet Center increase locations and profitability

Benson’s Pet Center is a 20-year, family-owned pet retailer based in Clifton Park, NY, with four stores (a fifth opening soon) and about 70 employees. Growth was constrained by an aging CounterPoint POS that suffered data loss, a non-reconciling general ledger, poor reporting, and limited inventory visibility across locations, making it difficult to make informed buying and merchandising decisions.

In March 2012 Benson’s implemented Epicor Eagle and the Compass BI tool, with a smooth data conversion and rollout. The new system delivered real-time, multi-location reporting and actionable analytics, boosting inventory turns from about three to over four, improving quantities-on-hand and ordering accuracy, enabling smarter merchandising and targeted customer outreach, and supporting continued store expansion.
