A Epicor Case Study
Lehman Pipe and Plumbing Supply, a Miami-based plumbing, mechanical and HVAC distributor founded in 1946 with about 47 employees and $25M in annual sales, had purchased Epicor ERP but was using only a fraction of its capabilities. Customizations and unclear job responsibilities made the system hard to use, leaving inventory, payables and receivables processes inefficient and exposing the business to unnecessary expense and manual work.
Epicor Consulting Services conducted a system-wide review, provided training and reconfigured processes to better mine ERP data and control user access. The work improved inventory flow (shifting toward higher-value “A” stock out of a $6M inventory), converted roughly $900,000 of excess stock to cash, sped invoice processing by limiting reviews to mismatches, and streamlined receiving — with further plans to refine document imaging and consolidate roles.
