Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) is the manufacturing and services arm of the Arizona Department of Corrections, operating across eight facilities and 15 job shops to provide inmate job training and produce consumer and institutional goods. With a workforce of about 4,000 and growing operations, ACI faced fragmented legacy systems that limited visibility, complicated invoicing and inventory control, and required stronger security and centralized oversight for inmate-run processes.

ACI implemented Epicor Manufacturing on a True SOA platform to consolidate standalone systems into a single, connected ERP with multi-plant access, uniform processes, scanned packing slips linked to invoices, and granular user-security controls. The solution delivered faster, more accurate workflows (approximately 82 ERP users, up to 40 concurrent), improved inventory and invoicing accuracy, stronger access control for inmate-handled operations, and a foundation for future e-business and business-intelligence enhancements.
