SAP S/4HANA shines a light for Powerlink

Powerlink, an Australian electricity transmission system operator, faced the challenge of upgrading its legacy SAP ECC system to SAP S/4HANA. The organization needed to modernize its ERP technology, improve user experience, and remediate problematic customizations. To execute this complex upgrade, they partnered with vendor EPI-USE Labs.

EPI-USE Labs implemented its Data Sync Manager (DSM) suite to de-risk and manage the upgrade process. The solution involved a proof of concept, the creation of a detailed upgrade runbook, and the use of DSM tools to efficiently refresh clients and data for testing. The production upgrade was completed successfully over a single weekend, on time and on budget, with limited post-upgrade defects, positioning Powerlink at the forefront of SAP technology.
