VitalAire’s Award-Winning Next-Gen Patient Portal Enhances CX

VitalAire, a home healthcare subsidiary of Air Liquide, needed to quickly create a digital patient portal to let patients manage lifelong diabetes care remotely, reorder supplies online, and reduce reliance on call centers and offline processes. EPAM Systems was brought in to deliver a commerce-enabled next-generation patient portal under a tight five-week timeline, using Drupal and commercetools on the Acquia Cloud Platform.

EPAM Systems implemented and launched the portal on time and within budget in May 2020, then expanded it in a second phase with a full website redesign, ERP integrations, additional payment methods, and improved customer profiles and search. The result was a better patient journey with remote treatment management, online ordering across five therapy areas, and enhanced self-service capabilities, and the solution also helped VitalAire and EPAM earn an Acquia Engage Award in 2020.
