Case Study: Priceline achieves cloud-native agility with EPAM Systems and Google Cloud

Priceline, a leading online travel agency, needed to move off its heavily loaded legacy data centers and accelerate its cloud transformation as COVID-19 changed travel demand and several data center leases were nearing expiration. To improve agility, scalability, and flexibility, Priceline partnered with EPAM Systems and Google Cloud, using services such as Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, Apigee, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, and Cloud SQL.

EPAM Systems helped Priceline modernize its data center architecture, increase automation with infrastructure as code and DevOps practices, and shift product teams to ship containers to Google Cloud rather than VMs. As a result, Priceline reached its first-year goal of moving 80% of its core product platform to the cloud nearly two months early, while also gaining greater elasticity, cross-platform portability, and a stronger path toward cloud-native operations.
