SEFE, a London-based midstream energy company involved in trading, portfolio management, sales, and storage, needed to modernize its aging on-premises high-performance computing (HPC) platform. To support intraday and end-of-day valuations as well as timely risk analysis, SEFE worked with EPAM Systems to migrate to Microsoft Azure and build a more scalable, cloud-based HPC environment.

EPAM Systems implemented a cloud-native HPC solution using native Microsoft Azure services and PaaS capabilities, creating a 500+ server on-demand compute capability with improved monitoring and controls. The migration delivered greater scalability, faster processing, better financial transparency, and enhanced resiliency, while helping SEFE realize an estimated 66% cost savings over five years and multi-million-pound hardware savings.
