The global healthcare company faced the challenge of automatically segmenting intricate ultrasound images of rodent blood vessels to improve the accuracy and efficiency of its pre-clinical drug research. To eliminate manual work and precisely identify artery walls, they partnered with EPAM to develop a specialized algorithm for this task.

EPAM created a proprietary Ultrasound Image Segmentation Tool that processes images to define artery boundaries and compute quantitative characteristics. This solution provided the client with a powerful new capability, enabling a large number of experiments that were previously impossible and resulting in more accurate analysis of how drugs affect vessels.
