Epam & Memorial Sloan Kettering Increase Patient Engagement Through Mobile App for Teenage & Young Adult Cancer Patients

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) engaged its long-time technology partner, EPAM, to address the challenge of isolation faced by its teenage and young adult cancer patients. The goal was to create a safe virtual community for these patients to connect with peers and access resources, which led to the development of a mobile app for their Teen and Young Adult Program.

EPAM developed a hybrid mobile application using Cordova and React, which functioned as a secure social networking platform for patients. The solution, delivered in eight months, allows users to network, ask questions, and find event information. This app significantly improved the patient experience by providing a supportive community, promoting independence and well-being for young adults at MSK.
