Digital Empowers Customers to Control Their Investments

Glarner Kantonalbank (GLKB) partnered with EPAM Systems to turn an overlooked pension opportunity into a new digital investment service. The challenge was to give people in Switzerland more control over their second-pillar retirement savings while they were between jobs or moving in and out of the country, instead of letting those funds sit in a low- or no-interest “black box.”

EPAM Systems helped design and build freeME, a self-service B2C platform, along with a B2B advisor portal, cloud infrastructure, and key integrations with external services. Using UX research, React/TypeScript, Java, and Microsoft Azure, EPAM Systems delivered a scalable, Switzerland-hosted solution that launched successfully and positioned GLKB to expand into new pension products and partnerships.
