A EOS Case Study
Saskatchewan Crop Producers, a collective of crop producers in Canada, faced a challenge as official yield forecasts lacked the spatial detail and timeliness needed for farm-level decisions during the fast-changing 2025 growing season. EOSDA addressed this insufficiency by applying its hybrid forecasting solution, which combines satellite data, weather metrics, and historical yield statistics.
EOSDA's solution delivered Rural Municipality-level yield forecasts for major crops like wheat, canola, and lentils twice during the season. The results captured meaningful local variability and trends; for instance, wheat yields showed consistent improvement while lentils exhibited high sensitivity to weather. This provided Saskatchewan crop producers with earlier and more localized data to better support their planning and risk management.
