Vectoflow boosts probe rigidity by 150% with EOS

The customer, Vectoflow GmbH, specializes in developing complex flow measurement probes for aviation. Their challenge was to produce a highly aerodynamic probe rake that was small, robust enough to withstand extreme temperatures, and could avoid disrupting airflow and acoustics in turbo engines.

The vendor, EOS GmbH, implemented a solution using their additive manufacturing technology, including an EOS M 290 system and a nickel-chromium alloy. This allowed Vectoflow to achieve an ideal, freedom-of-design form. The results included a 150% increase in component rigidity and a 67% reduction in the overall project duration from initial draft to finished part.
