Ortoplus, a company specializing in dental medical devices, faced challenges with traditional treatments for bruxism and sleep apnea, including poor patient adherence due to uncomfortable, ill-fitting devices and time-intensive, costly manufacturing processes. To address this, they partnered with vendor EOS GmbH and implemented its FORMIGA P 110 Velocis 3D printing system using biocompatible Polyamide 12 material.

The solution from EOS GmbH enabled the production of highly accurate, custom-fitted splints and mandibular advancement devices. This resulted in a 300% increase in production capacity without additional staff and improved the quality of life for 75,000 patients. The devices achieved a dimensional accuracy of less than ±0.1mm, significantly enhancing patient comfort and treatment efficacy.
