Langen Group boosts gripping power 4x in 1 week with EOS GmbH

The Langen Group faced a challenge for a customer's robotic packaging line where the end-of-arm tooling could not exceed 500 grams. To meet this strict weight limit while providing sufficient gripping force, they partnered with vendor EOS GmbH and utilized their FORMIGA P 100 additive manufacturing system.

EOS's solution involved redesigning and 3D printing the gripper components from nylon 12. This new, streamlined tool was produced, assembled, and tested in just one week. The resulting gripper weighed only 500 grams but provided four times the gripping force of the customer's previous legacy vacuum grippers, successfully staying within the robot's payload constraints.
