Hansgrohe launches 3D printed dog shower in 22 weeks with EOS GmbH

Hansgrohe, a faucet and shower specialist, faced the challenge of rapidly developing a market-ready dog shower head to expand its product range with minimal financial risk. The goal was to create a sellable, high-quality product within a tight six-month timeframe. To achieve this, Hansgrohe partnered with vendor EOS GmbH and utilized its EOS P 396 3D printer and PA 2200 material.

EOS GmbH provided the solution by successfully obtaining the first-ever drinking water certification for the PA 2200 material, enabling its use in a sanitary product. Using additive manufacturing on the EOS P 396, Hansgrohe produced the shower head with functional integration, which reduced the part count by 33% and simplified assembly. This allowed the company to develop a sellable product that passed internal testing within just 22 weeks, bringing the innovative dog shower to market rapidly and with minimal upfront investment.
