EvoBus identifies 2,600 parts for 3D printing with EOS

EvoBus GmbH, a subsidiary of the Daimler Group, faced challenges in its Customer Services & Parts division, including long lead times and high costs for spare parts logistics and warehousing. To address this and enhance innovation, EvoBus partnered with vendor EOS GmbH and utilized its Additive Minds consulting service to explore additive manufacturing.

The solution from EOS involved using their part screening methodology to identify 2,600 parts suitable for 3D printing, with 35 selected for an initial implementation phase. This shift to localized, on-demand production significantly reduced lead times and costs for EvoBus by lowering logistics and warehousing expenses and avoiding tooling costs and overproduction.
