DS Automobiles produces 2,000 customized car parts in just a few weeks with EOS GmbH

The customer, DS Automobiles, a brand of the PSA Group, faced the challenge of manufacturing high-quality, uniquely designed titanium accessories for a limited edition of their DS 3 model to highlight their dedication to innovation. They needed a swift time-to-market and a partner with both additive manufacturing expertise and sufficient production capacity. The vendor, EOS GmbH, provided the EOS M 290 system and EOS Titanium Ti64 material, which were utilized by their partner Spartacus3D to meet these requirements.

The solution implemented using EOS GmbH's technology involved the series production of intricate door handle covers and key holders on the EOS M 290. Spartacus3D optimized the manufacturing parameters to prevent distortion and reduce costs, enabling the production of 200 parts per build job without quality loss. The results were highly efficient, with each part produced in under one hour for a total of 2,000 pieces. This allowed DS Automobiles to successfully launch their innovative Dark Side edition worldwide within a few weeks.
