A EOS GmbH Case Study
CoolestDC, a Singapore-based deep tech startup, faced the challenge of finding a leak-free alternative to traditional brazed and assembled cold plates for direct-to-chip liquid cooling in data centers. They needed a solution to minimize the risk of catastrophic server damage from leakage, shrink rack density, reduce electricity costs, and improve overall sustainability for their clients.
Using EOS GmbH's additive manufacturing technology, specifically the EOS DMLS process with Copper CuCP material, CoolestDC developed a unibody, leakless cold plate. This solution eliminated joints and gaskets, could withstand high water pressure, and allowed for mass customization. The results included a 30% reduction in energy consumption, a PUE as low as 1.2, a 40% increase in GPU clock speeds with no throttling, and significant estimated total cost savings for end customers across various use cases.
